How does the hypothalamus communicate with the pituitary to begin hormone release?
Hypothalamus is the basal part of diencephalon which regulates a wide variety of functions in our body. It contains several groups of neuro secretory cells called as nuclei which produce hormones. These hormones regulate the synthesis as wells as release of pituitary hormones. These hormones produced by hypothalamus are of two types, releasing hormones ( stimulate the release of pituitary hormones) and inhibiting hormones ( inhibit the secretions of pituitary hormones).
